QandA

Do you collaborate on voluntary projects?

Sometimes, but Dean usually focusses on paid shoots. If it’s a Short Fiction Film or Documentary, he might get involved if he has a major position such as Cinematography or Directing.

Do you work as a group?

Dean works alone mostly, but can hire graphic designers or other crew, they usually price up their work separately.

Do you shoot on weekdays?

Yes, we shoot throughout the week. I would need some time to book London based shoots, but always looking for different videos to create.

What is your style of shooting?

Dean shoots with a Gimbal, and also films a lot of slow motion in 4K 120 frames per second.

We have started to offer Anamorphic filmmaking.

Dean likes to plan shoots beforehand so he knows what you want for your video. He also uses pro-mist filters that helps him achieve more of a filmic look.

He uses cameras that have good autofocus. He uses a gimboom which allows him to do crane like shots and high above wide shots.

He also likes shooting in handheld, and works very hard on shoots to get enough footage. He is a very good video editor, so his talent lies in making a video as a complete package. He also enjoys using lights and often’s studies cinematography in his spare time.

What settings do you film it?

  • 5K/Anamorphic/De-Squeezed (5107 by 2160 pixels)10Bit 422 - Rec2020 colour space.
